My Hospital Shortlist: 5 Hospitals Down South

I'd like to share the hospital room rates Medical Center Paranaque gave me and some room rates of nearby hospitals in the south.

Medical Center Paranaque (where I will be giving birth anytime now)
Honestly the hospital looks old and tired and if my doctor hadn't assured me that the staff are capable I wouldn't think twice about scrapping it from my list.  I do know that a lot of the doctors here are also doctors who have clinics at the pricey Asian Hospital though.  The staff are in their late 30s and 40s unlike the young staff at Asian and St. Luke's.  Its old, stuffy, the parking is not well planned at all and they are currently renovating some parts which makes the place look even more tired what with all the cut out holes in the ceiling but it was recommended by my doctor and it fits the budget.  This is also the hospital where my brother would go way back when he would have asthma attacks some 15 years back.
Private Room 2 (Newly Renovated): 2960.00 per day
Pretty much your basic hospital private room, I like it better than the ones at Las Pinas Doctor's Hospital.  It has a lounge chair, 2 ottomans, a table, refrigerator, TV and a closet.  Its pretty compact though.

Suite Room 1 (Newly Renovated) : 3,404.00
This room I like.  It has a large window with a view of.. the parking lot and SM construction site.. not much of a view but it really lightens up the room.  Its also bigger by about 4 square meters, has a little dining set, bench (which serves as the bantay's bed), 2 ottomans, a refrigerator, and closet.  The bathroom looks pretty much the same down to the pail and dipper set.

All in all am pretty satisfied with this room.  There are cheaper rooms at under 2k per day but I did not check these anymore as they are not newly renovated and do not have television.  For comparison though, here are the room rates of other hospitals: (these are all for private rooms)

Las Pinas Doctors - 1,100.00
Perpetual Help Las Pinas - 1,925.00
Asian Hospital - 3,630.00
St. Lukes BGC - 3,600.00

St. Lukes has the best rooms, they're nice and warm looking.  I didn't get to see the rooms at Perpetual.  LPDH rooms are a bit old and tired but sufficient.

So there.  Hope this will be helpful to someone out there preparing for the big day =)  Its a lot of work preparing but I find it soothing to get ready.  10 days to go for me!

We Got Married for 180k, This is How It Looked

Marriage is a choice for a lifetime that we both made, but the wedding itself.. its my biggest project! I got married at a cost of 180k, 183k to be more exact. It was great wedding, with enough pouf and ceremony to mark it as an important day in our lives but it was low key enough that 1.) it didn't empty our bank account and 2.) we didn't need to solicit anything from anyone. We'd been living together for a year when we got married.  Out little boy had just turned 3 a few days before the wedding and was the cutest, most solemn ring bearer.  With the new expenses of maintaining our own house, a child, 2 cars and anticipating incoming school expenses, an expensive wedding just didn't seem practical to us. So how did we do it?  There are so many wedding blogs and magazines out there showcasing beautiful weddings, and I wanted that.  I was on Pinterest daily looking for inspiration and trying to firm up the details in my mind.  The thing with t...

To Wear Or Not To Wear Maternity Wear: 7 Items A Preggy Girl Needs

5 months I've never been the type to gush over kids. I don't volunteer to hold babies and I get irritated when I find myself in the midst of noisy, yelling kids whose parents can't seem to keep them under control or aren't even trying. In the back of my head I've always thought I'd like to have my own little family someday, with a loving husband, 2 kids, 2 dogs, a cat, and of course an efficient yaya.. but I used to think this would be something sooo far away. I couldn't see myself as a mom.. and I most especially didn't see myself in maternity clothes! I thought they looked funny with the elastic waist bands for pants, gigantic floral prints, very synthetic fabrics and limited styles. I dreaded having to put anything that looked buntis on. I felt this way up to my 5th month of preggyness and continued to wear my old clothes simply because they still fit. Then came the 6th month and all of a sudden I looked like I swallowed a soccer ball. I...
